Agnes Rankin born 30th April 1905, 1:00am at 51 Harvie Street, Bridgeton
                           died 26th Sept. 2003 aged 98yrs. Whitburn
William Evans born 1905 died of Gastric Flu on 6th Apr.1940 of tuberculous meningitis

They married on 23 November1928 in Newlands Parish Church,
                                                          Camlachie, 967 London Road, Glasgow SE.

William aged 23 was a trunk maker, Agnes aged 23 was a yarn winder. Rev.George Allan officiated 
The witnesses were  Joseph Cairns Reilly, 30 Marshall St. Glasgow and Lily Cooper Smith,18 Rosehall St.Glasgow.

In their short but happy marriage they had two children:.
Agnes Evans  Agnes called 'Nessie' born 28th April 1931, my mother.
William Evans William called 'Sonny' born 12th April 1935

Born Agnes Rankin in 1905 in Bridgeton, the oldest of the nine Rankin children 5 boys & 4 girls
Twice married, brought  up 3 children in a single-end in 89 Walkinshaw Street, Bridgeton, Glasgow. Her only daughter, Nessie was my Mammy.
I celebrate her life, she had a great innings and think back on the wonderful memories she has left me and all the family and friends who knew
and loved her.  God bless her.
